The Blob
When I say we goose hunt using over 4,000 decoys, I mean it. My father, Kendall, introduced "The Blob" six years ago and people laughed. They're not laughing anymore. Our spread hails amazing drawing power for long distance geese. The majority of the decoys are hand crafted and resemble a silhouette style decoy. Closer to the pit are motion and full bodied decoys for when the geese are ready to land.
As one can imagine, we have put in the manpower and time in order to succeed in the growing popularity of decoying geese.
Revolutionary Goose Hunting
DeGrey Goose Camp
"Everybody has ten dozen full bodied decoys… sometimes you have to think outside the box. Do something different…"
Pit BlindsYou may have hunted in nicer pits then this, but I doubt it. Our main pit is 48 feet long by five feet wide and was built with metal for increased durability. This 12-man state of the art blind pit comes equipped with propane heaters and electric outlets. Even the bitter cold South Dakota winters cannot hold a hardcore outdoorsman down. These pits make it possible for my father to run guided hunts throughout the coldest days of the season. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of our pits is the dome lid. Chicken wire lids in the shape of a half sphere allow hunters to see the geese before the shot. The lids swing out of the way on a swivel system helping to keep hunters hidden until the words "take em" echo through the walls of the pit.

Dome LidsThese lids make it easier to see the geese prior to shooting, which had caused problems in the past. Pinpointing which goose to shoot increases accuracy. One key to consistency is shooting into a small number of flocks per day.
